Terms and privacy
Last updated 29 September 2026. The terms come first, then how we handle your information.
Who we are
Tangent Brewing Company Limited, registered in England & Wales No. 14604180, Unit 55 Beeches Industrial Estate, Waverley Road, Yate, Bristol BS37 5QR. VAT registration GB443983268. You can contact us at hello@tangentbrewing.co.uk. We operate this website and are the data controller for it.
Terms and conditions
These terms apply to your use of tangentbrewing.co.uk and to purchases made through our website. Please read them before placing an order.
1. Age restrictions
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase alcohol from us. By placing an order containing alcohol, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the alcohol is not being purchased for someone under 18.
We may request valid proof of age when you collect an order. We may refuse to hand over alcohol if satisfactory proof of age is not provided or if doing so would breach the law.
2. Products and availability
We aim to describe our products accurately. Beer is produced in batches, so its appearance and other natural characteristics may vary slightly. The description, size, alcohol by volume, ingredients and allergen information shown for a product at the time of purchase form part of your order.
Products are subject to availability. If we cannot supply an item you have ordered, we will contact you and offer an appropriate replacement or a refund for that item. We will not substitute a product without your agreement.
If you have an allergy or need more information about a product, please contact us before ordering.
3. Prices and payment
The price payable is the price displayed at checkout when you place your order. Consumer prices include VAT where applicable.
The available payment methods will be shown at checkout. If we discover an obvious pricing error before accepting your order, we will tell you the correct price and let you decide whether to proceed.
4. Placing an order
After you place an order, we will send an acknowledgement to the email address you provide. This confirms that we have received your order; it does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.
We accept your order when we send an order acceptance or collection confirmation. If we cannot accept it, we will tell you and refund any payment taken for the affected items.
Please check your order and contact details before submitting them.
5. Collecting your order
We will let you know when your order is ready for collection. Collection is from our brewery at the address above during the collection times shown on the website or agreed with us.
Please bring your order confirmation and valid proof of age. If you cannot collect your order as arranged, contact us so we can agree what happens next.
6. Cancelling an online consumer order
If you buy goods from us online as a consumer, you will generally have 14 days after collecting them to tell us that you wish to cancel, without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.
To cancel, email hello@tangentbrewing.co.uk with your name, order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You do not need to use a particular form.
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods after a change of mind, unless we have agreed otherwise. Please package returned goods securely. We may reduce a refund if goods have lost value because they have been handled more than necessary to establish their nature and characteristics.
We will refund eligible payments within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or evidence that you have sent them back. We will use the original payment method unless you agree otherwise.
The statutory change-of-mind right has exceptions. In particular, it may not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, such as beer produced or labelled specifically for your order, or to goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. We will identify any applicable exception before you place the order.
If you wish to cancel before collection, contact us promptly. We will confirm whether the order can be stopped and what refund applies.
7. Problems with an order
If goods are faulty, damaged, not as described, or something is missing, please email hello@tangentbrewing.co.uk with your order number and details of the problem. Photographs can help us investigate, but are not a condition of exercising your legal rights.
We will offer a remedy in accordance with your statutory rights. The change-of-mind process in section 6 does not limit those rights.
8. Custom and trade orders
Custom-labelled beer, contract brewing, contract canning and other bespoke work may be subject to a separate written quotation or agreement. We will confirm the specification, price, payment terms and any production timetable before work begins. Any agreed separate terms will take precedence for that work where they conflict with these website terms.
Trade accounts are subject to approval and may have separate pricing, credit limits and payment terms confirmed to the account holder. Consumer cancellation rights described in section 6 do not apply to purchases made wholly for business purposes. Nothing in this section affects rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Taproom visits and events
Opening times, events and product availability may change. Any paid event booking, brewery tour or private hire arrangement may have its own booking terms, which we will provide before you book.
Our staff may request proof of age and may refuse alcohol service where required or permitted by law.
10. Website content
The text, photographs, branding and other content on this website belong to us or our licensors. You may use the site for personal use or legitimate business enquiries, but you must not copy or reuse its content commercially without permission.
You must not misuse the website, interfere with its operation or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it.
11. Liability
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Personal information
We use personal information in connection with enquiries, orders and our website as described under Privacy below, which also explains how to exercise your data protection rights.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force when we accept your order will apply to that order. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you retain any mandatory protections that apply where you live. You may bring a consumer claim in the courts available to you under applicable law.
Privacy
Short version: we don't track you, and the only data we collect is what you choose to send us.
What we collect
If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address and whatever you write in the message. That's it — this site has no accounts or newsletter sign-up, and it doesn't take orders yet.
Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs (IP address, date and time, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting, the way any web server does. We don't use these for anything else.
What we don't do
No cookies. No analytics. No advertising or tracking scripts. We don't sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.
The one thing the site keeps in your browser is your answer to the age question: until you close the browser, or on that device if you tick Remember me. It never leaves your device.
Why we process it, and who sees it
We use your message to reply to you — that's the entire purpose, and our legitimate interest in doing so is the legal basis. The contact form is handled by Web3Forms, who deliver your message to our inbox on our behalf and act as a data processor for that purpose. They are based outside the UK; see their own privacy policy for how they handle data in transit. We don't share your message with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries in our inbox for as long as it's useful to have the conversation on record, then delete them. There's no fixed retention schedule beyond that.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@tangentbrewing.co.uk for any of this. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If what this site actually does changes, this section will change to match it, and the date at the top of the page with it.
